Mendocino Redwood Retreat – Home

Encounter God. Enjoy Camping. Explore Calling.

Mendocino Redwood Retreat is nestled between the beautiful redwood trees of coastal Mendocino County in Little River, California. It is located just one mile from the Pacific Ocean. It currently has the capacity to sleep 47 campers with the a vision to expand and improve. It has five cabins, a beautiful chapel and a lodge with a commercial kitchen. The bathhouse has two showers in both the male and female sides.

Mendocino Redwood Retreat’s mission is to provide a space where young people can encounter God and nature, enjoy a comfortable camping experience and clear their minds to explore what lies ahead in life. Members of our Board of Directors represent a variety of Christian denominations, but we welcome all those who love and appreciate the great outdoors and respect the dignity of all people. Mendocino Redwood Retreat has had the great pleasure of hosting men’s retreats, women’s retreats, church retreats, meditation groups, children camps, the famous Camp Rubber Soul for children with disabilities, family reunions, scrapbookers, weddings, and public school educational field trips.

Our director, Rev. Dr. Sunny Farley, is an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church with more than 20 years of experience with youth, college students, adult discipleship and music ministry. Groups may choose to use her or their own retreat/conference leadership. She is available for spiritual direction, as a musician and to help with any guest needs.

Mendocino Redwood Retreat has been operating as a non-profit retreat for over 25 years. It was started over 30 years ago with the vision of serving youth and disabled individuals. In fact, many youth groups came from all over the United States to help professional volunteers build the buildings that are currently on the 27 acres.
